Arriving in Vienna

Airport

The Airport Wien-Schwechat (VIE) is located 30 minutes away from the city centre and Colloquium venue: The Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Center.

You can travel to and from the airport with:

  • The City Airport Train (CAT) (goes directly to Underground Station Landstrasse: U3, U4)
  • The regional trains (e.g., S7 train to Landstrasse U3, U4; Praterstern U1, U2)
  • The airport buses (directly to Westbahnhof: U3, U6; or Schwedenplatz: U1, U4, which is the most central location for those staying in the inner city)
  • Many companies offer a private transfer service from the airport to your hotel.  You can organise this in advance online or the offices are located at the entrance hall of the airport and are generally open long hours. The cost is around €45.
