Who should attend

We encourage anyone with an interest in evidence informed health care to attend Cochrane Colloquia.

Colloquium delegates include a combination of:

Researchers and scientists:
Those involved in conducting research on health-related issues and treatments, including those working in laboratory environments, refining methodology, analysing statistics, etc.

Health practitioners:
Individuals involved in the delivery of health care, including: physicians, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, radiologists, midwives, specialists, and many more.

Policy-makers:
Those responsible for making recommendations and decisions regarding healthcare policy (drug coverage or best practice guidelines, etc.). This includes Health Technology Assessors responsible for informing technology-related policy-making in health care.

Consumers/patients:
Individuals who are experiencing illness (minor or major) or chronic disease and use, are affected by, or are entitled to use health related services. Not all consumers experience illness themselves, but are often caretakers of others. Consumer representatives work with Cochrane to ensure their views are taken into account.

Cochrane contributors:
The international nature of The Cochrane Collaboration does not allow for significant face-to-face teamwork. Colloquia provide an annual forum where Cochrane staff come together to share ideas and information, hold important meetings, and learn about the latest evidence and methodology. Most importantly, annual Colloquia provide the opportunity for colleagues from around the world to connect, collaborate, and celebrate.

Last, but certainly not least, we encourage students to come and learn about Cochrane and evidence-based health care.
