Social events at Cochrane Colloquia serve as an important opportunity for Cochrane's global community to meet once a year in relaxed circumstances and (re-)establish friendships and collaborations. They provide an opportunity to re-affirm the collaborative nature of the orgnisation, where the members of the Cochrane community can un-wind in the presence of trusted friends and colleagues; share their experiences; rejoice in each others' successes; and help others with their challenges.  These events also serve as an opportunity to meet and welcome newcomers to Cochrane, and forge new collaborative partnerships. And above all, they offer all of us an opportunity to celebrate the existence and success of this unique organisation.
