Who can attend?
Q: I’m not a Cochrane contributor. Can I still attend the Colloquium?
A: Yes! We encourage anyone with an interest in evidence informed health care to attend. For more information on who should attend, click here
Q: Can my spouse or partner attend?
A: Anyone wishing to attend the Colloquium must pay a registration fee. There are many social events and interesting tours that an accompanying person can participate in during the Colloquium. Extra social event tickets may be purchased based on a first come first served basis. You will see this option during registration and payment.
Q: Are there child-minding services available at or near the Colloquium venue?
A: Yes, we are currently planning to offer child-minding for children aged 1-12 years at the Colloquium venue. Please contact us ASAP if you will require child care as we will need to assess demand. Contact: Julia.Schober@cochrane.at with "child care at Colloquium" as the topic.
Travelling to Austria
Q: I’m not an Austrian citizen. Do I need special documentation to enter Austria and attend this conference?
A: Austria is part of the "Schengen region" and the European Union. Nationals of other states may need to apply for a visa and we suggest you contact your respective Austrian embassy in ample time to ensure your application is successful. When you have registered we can support you with necessary documentation.
Q: Can I receive a discount on my travel fare?
A: No.
Registration
Q: Can I pay my registration fee at the Colloquium?
A: No. All fees must be paid up front with a valid credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club) using our online registration and payment system before 9 September 2015.
Q: Is the registration fee refundable?
A: Conference registration cancellations received in writing before 26 August 2015 will be refunded in full, less an administrative fee. See Registration Guidelines for more details.
Q: I only plan on attending one day of the Colloquium. Can I pay for one day only?
A: Yes. For the fees applicable to your country for day registration, click here.
Q: Several of my colleagues and I are registering for the Colloquium. Is there a special group rate?
A: No, only individual registration is available.
Abstract / Workshop submissions
Q: I already have a Colloquium account. Can I reuse my e-mail and login information?
A: No, you must create a new account for this year’s Colloquium.
Q: If I submit an abstract but do not receive a confirmation email, how will I know if it went through?
A: Log in to your Colloquium account and click ‘My submissions’ in the menu on the left side of the screen. This page will list any content you have submitted and will update you on its status. If your submission is not listed, write to abstracts@cochrane.org and ask for confirmation.
Q: If I missed the abstract submission deadline, will you accept late submissions?
A: The call for abstracts will automatically close on 25 March 2015 at 12 a.m MET. If you were unable to submit your abstract due to technical difficulties with the Colloquium website, write to abstracts@cochrane.org.
Q: If my abstract is accepted, but I can no longer attend the Colloquium, can I send someone to present in my place?
A: Yes, you have until 26 August 2015 to advise the event organisers of a substitute delegate. Please email abstracts@cochrane.org if you are unable to present at the Colloquium.
Certification/credtis
Q: Will I receive Continuing Medical Education credits for attending the Colloquium?
A: We are working on this and will update the site once we have more definitive information.
Q: Will I receive a certificate of attendance for the Colloquium?
A: Yes. We hope to enable this system so that you can generate your attendance certificates.
Accommodation & getting around
Q: Do I need to book my own hotel room?
A: Yes, all Colloquium attendees must arrange their own accommodation. A list of recommended hotels at special rates can be found here.
Q: Do citizens of Vienna speak English?
A: The official language in Austria is German. Almost all staff of hotels, shops, tours, and restaurants in Vienna will speak fluent English.

Q: Where and when will the 2016 Colloquium be held?
A: The 24th Cochrane Colloquium will be held in Seoul, South Korea.
